What career path can my child take as a result of attending their chosen class?

Your child could choose to take any of the below career paths as a result of attending our classes:

What qualifications can my child gain whilst attending classes at the Limelight Academy of Performing Arts?

Your child can work through the grades of both LAMDA and the Arts Award as shown below: 

LAMDA:

Level 1 exams (Grades 1-3) are the equivalent of low grades at GCSE 

Level 2 exams (Grades 4 and 5) high grade GCSE  

Level 3 exams (Grades 6,7 and 8) have the equivalent UCAS points within Band 1: 

Pass = 4 UCAS points 

Merit = 8 UCAS points 

Distinction = 12 UCAS points 

 

Trinity College London Arts Award:

Bronze – Level 1 Award in the Arts 

Equivalent to GCSE grades 3-1 (was D-G). Music Grades 1-3 

Silver – Level 2 Award in the Arts Equivalent to GCSE grades 9-4 (was A*-C). Music Grades 4-5 

Gold – Level 3 Certificate in the Arts Equivalent to A Level standard/AS Grade B. Carries 16 UCAS points. Music Grades 6/8 (for example Grade 7 Music performance examination at Distinction) 

Do you offer any discounts?

We do offer discounts under the circumstances below: 

  • FREE trial session for any of our courses before you sign up. 
  • Sibling discount of 10% off one of the courses attended by the siblings. 
  • Multi-class sign up discount of 10%
  • Our ‘Refer a Friend’ scheme offers 50% off the subscription fee for both you and the person you refer for 1 month.  

Does my child need any special footwear or clothing?

Your child will provided with a LAPA T-shirt, which is included in our enrolment fee.
They will be required to wear their T-shirt to all classes that they attend, along with comfortable bottoms of their choice. Footwear needs to be comfortable, and suitable for the type of class they are taking. Please see the list below:
Musical Theatre - Trainers or Jazz Shoes
Jazz - Jazz Shoes
Contemporary - Turners or Foot thongs
Street - Trainers 
Acting for Stage and Screen - Trainers 
Limelight Productions - All students will be required to wear Jazz shoes for any productions that they take part in. Trainers are also acceptable for rehearsal use only.

Our Performing Arts courses are designed to have a positive impact on your health through movement, expression, and social interaction. Our courses also provide a comprehensive approach to well-being. Engaging with these courses will strengthen your body, improve cardiovascular fitness, and enhance flexibility. By joining LAPA, you will fit straight into our supportive community, where you will be able to escape any problems you may have and immerse yourself in Performing Arts. Mental health is such a vital part of our student’s wellbeing. Here at LAPA, we have an open-door policy where you can come and speak to any of our tutors about problems you may have, whilst releasing your emotions through the art of performing.
